The Medieval World covers the period to approximately 1500, while Union and Partition covers the period from 1800 to present, with a major emphasis on the period leading up to partition. A fourth book, The Twentieth Century is offered as an alternative for the final year study, taking a theme-based approach to the changes that have come in the past one hundred years. the contents of this book are in self-contained units, so that teachers can choose to cover or omit particular subjects as time and the ability level of the students dictate.
